Stanley Rivers Update
G'day and glad you could join us for another action packed season………..We
hope you can join us for our carnival on the 23rd and 24th of July. We
promise to deliver a fun and very reasonably priced weekend of polocrosse
with super cheap meals, budget priced drinks, the best steaks and the
friendliest country atmosphere. So leave your eskies behind and join us
for drinks and dinner on Friday night - we are putting a free sausage
sizzle with budget priced drinks and on Saturday night we will have on
offer great company, great food and a full bar at your disposal.
We have made a number of improvements during the "off-season"
which include:
-
POWER
-
FIELDS
-
SHOWERS
-
YARDS (Pending grant application success)
-
10 YEAR MASTERPLAN
POWER - an upgrade of the existing power supply and lighting is currently
in process. An additional 5-6 new power poles are already in place across
the centre of the race track. Our best intention is to have this work
is completed by Energex and the Kilcoy Shire Council prior to our July
carnival.
AERATING THE FIELDS - Another much needed improvement has been the aeration
of the fields and we have Col Holcroft to thank for this. This work was
completed prior to the Zone Benefit Carnival and since then over an inch
of rain has fallen with the fields responding well.
SHOWERS - Tiling work has been competed in the men's and ladies showers
in the centre of the racecourse. The hot water system has been upgraded
at the Jockey's amenities rooms and we now have a total of 14 showers
across the grounds.
YARDS - Funding has been sought through Sport and Recreation for 60 new
purpose built steel yards, 12 covered stables, 2 additional horse wash
down bays and modifications to existing yards to comply with the PAA directive
and the performance indicator set down for all polocrosse clubs under
their risk management policy. Our total horse stabling facilities will
be boosted to 140 open purpose built steel yards, 12 covered stables and
3 designated horse wash down bays. If successful our Club will endeavor
to have this work well underway prior to our July carnival.
MASTERPLAN - The Stanley Rivers Club has been actively working with local
stakeholders in the development of a 10 year Masterplan for the Kilcoy
Race Course. Feedback from polocrosse players has been invaluable to this
process and to our grant applications. We will again be seeking your feedback
by way of a survey at our carnival. Please complete the survey form (which
will be given to you at the gate) and return it to the box at the secretaries
office. All surveys will be treated as anonymous.
See you for a top weekend of polocrosse on July 23 and 24th at Kilcoy!!!
